Chappie's
Chat
The tenth edition of Chappie's
Chat is now online and it's actually written by Jim Chapman himself this
week!
The 'Shire
Tomorrow's opponents East Stirlingshire this week signed former Rovers stalwart
Jordan Smith who had been with Arbroath on a short term contract earlier in the
season. Smith, Iain Diack and Ally Graham are the familiar faces to Cliftonhill
regulars who'll be donning black and white at Firs Park tomorrow.

David Lyttle Dies
Former Rovers director and match secretary David
"Davie" Lyttle has died. Davie was involved with Rovers for many years
leaving the board when the old guard were ousted around 9 years ago. He declined
the invitation to stay on as match secretary at least partly due to ill health.
We shall let you know funeral arrangements as soon as known.

Berwick Win
Berwick Rangers made it 7 from 7
league matches at Cliftonhill this afternoon when they won 2-0, but the league
leaders didn't find it easy.
The Number's Up
The Albion Rovers Supporters' Trust today
announces it is setting up a directory enquiries service. With
the launch expected in late October the service shall cost 40p per call (costs
from mobiles and non-BT lines may vary) with a substantial
part of that amount going to the trust. The service provides one search per call
and the costs compare favourably with many providers!
The number when it is operative shall be 118821 - or perhaps easier to remember 1 - 1882 - 1, the more astute of fans will have noticed that the club's year of foundation 1882 forms the middle section of the number.
Watch this space for the launch date!

Reserves
Rovers reserves tonight drew 1-1 with Queen of the
South at Cliftonhill, a cracking run and shot by Jason Alexander with seconds
remaining levelled it for Rovers
Team Pic
This seasons team picture has now been put on the profiles
page. The photo shall be in your programme this Saturday, in colour of course
for you to keep - a bargain at just £1.

Supporters' Trust
The Trust page has been
updated with some programme news and a report with photos from the quiz night.

Elgin
Rovers took the long journey north to Elgin today
and drew 2 - 2 in a match they led twice. There were some particularly good
performances from Messrs. Lennon (obviously), Friel, Donachy and Wilson. Despite
failing to secure the 3 points Rovers climbed 2 places to 6th in the table.
One worry was Tommy Lennox hobbling off in 10 minutes after a virtual assault by Dempsie who wasn't even booked!
Quiz
A good night was had by all at the Albion Rovers/Airdrie United Supporters
Trusts quiz night held at Cliftonhill yesterday. Due to a late night last night
and a long trip to Elgin today and work tomorrow a report of this shall be up
tomorrow along with a pic or 2. A video of a certain person at the following
karaoke may also be on the site.
Suffice it to say for now the quiz was won by a team with only 3 members (the rest had 5 or 6) them all being Rovers trust committee members including a webmaster, treasurer and co-editor of the programme who shall remain nameless till tomorrow anyway!

Chappie's

The eighth edition of Chappie's

a player - captain Scott Friel is the author this week!
(13/9/05)
Reserves
Rovers reserves drew 0 - 0 with their Gretna
counterparts at Cliftonhill tonight. The Gretna side included a few known
"faces" and Brooks Mileson was there to watch.

Fifers Win At
Cliftonhill
Despite grabbing the lead in just 2 minutes Rovers
went down 4 - 2 to East Fife today. As seems fashionable former Rover John
Bradford bagged one for the visitors. New signing Graeme Mathie played the last
25 minutes of the game.

Chappie's
Chat
The seventh and final weekly edition of Chappie's
Chat is now online but worry not his chat shall alternate on a weekly basis
with a dressing room view written by a player!
New Signing
Jim Chapman this week signed defender Graeme Mathie who was released by
Saturday's opponents East Fife due to travelling difficulties. He was
formerly with Motherwell and Ayr United.
Minute's Silence
The club shall hold a minute's silence prior to tomorrow's match in memory of
lifelong fan Joe O'Hare who died earlier in the week and former Rovers player
and legendary Celtic/Scotland manager Jock Stein who died 20 years ago to the
day.

Reserve

Cliftonhill this evening.

Karaoke Report
The karaoke was held at Cliftonhill on Friday. There was a turnout of 20 or so, plus a group of the players. The
players didn't stay long, as they had a bounce game the following morning, but
nearly everyone else stuck around for a while - manager Chapman and his son
included.
Most people enjoyed themselves - Jimmy Lawson was even seen to smile at one point. Peter McClurg did give us a song, and chairman/barman Frank Meade did an Elvis impersonation that had to be seen to be believed - however, his vice chairman wasn't so forthcoming. Need to sing next time, Davie!!
Congrats to Chick for a good night and an excellent buffet - curry, chilli, lasangne, salad and so on. What more could you want? I encourage all of you to come along to future events.
Thanks to David Herd for the report.
Quiz
A reminder that the next event shall be held on Friday 16th
at Cliftonhill. Our supporters trust has arranged a quiz with 5 teams of 5 people
with an entry charge of £10 per team to go head to head with 5 teams
from Airdrie United's supporters trust. A warning to those of a sensitive constitution
Rovers are at Elgin the following day!
