Shearer Called Up
Berti Vogts has called former Rovers
'keeper Scott Shearer into the squad to face Romania at Hampden on Wednesday.
Quite an achievement for the youngster who was second choice at Cliftonhill just
two years ago!

Gretna Do It Again
Gretna beat Rovers for the fourth and final time of
the season at Cliftonhill today (2-1). Ian Stevens scored two, one for his team
and one for Rovers.
See fixture list for a link to the match report.

School Visit
Rovers players recently joined Primary 6 and 7 pupils at Our Lady & St. Joseph's (Glenboig) for a healthy breakfast followed by sports training. Our Lady & St. Joseph's is a health promoting school and arranged for the players and children to try exotic fruits and wholemeal cereals.
The pupils were delighted to train with the youth players and pick up some advice on leading a healthy lifestyle. Youth Development Officer, Jimmy Lindsay said, "This is an ideal opportunity for our youth players to demonstrate the benefits of leading the good life!".
Injuries
Kevin McAllister tells us that Graeme McCaul will
go under the knife tomorrow to cure his problematic hernia. Ricky Patrick is
still out due to the head knock he received at Cowdenbeath and Peter Cormack is
injured and Chris Fahey still hasn't recovered. On a brighter note Marc McKenzie
is back on the scene after recovering and coming off the bench at Montrose with 5
minutes left to play. Crunchie tells us that a return to first team action for
Chris Silvestro could well be on the cards before the end of the season,
although that's up to the player himself.
Sportsman's Dinner
General manager John Reynolds reports that this
years dinner being held on the 7th May at Drumpellier Golf Club is already a
sell-out! As is usual on such occasions various signed shirts shall be up
for auction, Kevin McAllister will use his Chelsea connections to obtain one of
theirs.
Mark Yardley
Mark proved that he has a sense of humour
last night when appeared on the Tam Cowan programme "Offside" on BBC1.
Guests Blythe Duff (from Taggart) and legendary manager Tommy Docherty were
asked to pick the professional footballer from a lineup of 5 men - neither
picked our Yards.

Graeme McCaul
We understand that Graeme is awaiting a
hernia operation which explains his lack of appearances of late.

Unbeaten Run Ends
Rovers lost 3-1 today at Links Park,
Montrose. If the home side could finish it would have been more. Very disappointingly
the supporters bus had to be cancelled as too few people turned up to make it
economical, it would have cost £20 a head. As has been seen before Chris
Silvestro was taking part in the pre-match warm-up so it's a possibility we may
see him make a limited comeback before the end of the season.
A full match report will be on this site tomorrow.

Six Goal Blunder
Three goals up after half an hour for the
second match in a row Rovers were sailing but things weren't to last. They let
the Blue Toon come back to snatch a point which didn't really help their slim
promotion chances one little bit.
A full match report will be on this site tomorrow evening.

Four Games Unbeaten
Rovers leapfrogged Queen's Park in the
league to take 7th place in the table. A McManus double and a Ferry own goal
which was credited to Jordan Smith by the Rovers announcer Shuggie sealed the 3
points.
A full report will be on this site tomorrow.

Five Star Rovers
An excellent first-half saw Rovers leading
4-0 at the break, a disappointing second period meant a 5-1 win over the 'Shire.
David Farrell, Mark Yardley and Jim Mercer came back into the team. Out went
Jordan Smith due to a family bereavement, Ricky Patrick due to the head-knock he
received at Cowdenbeath and Chris Kerr who started the match on the bench.
A full match report will be on the site tomorrow.
Ricky Patrick
We hear that the youngster had to visit
hospital in connection with the head-knock he received at Cowdenbeath. Although
he had a large lump on his noggin he isn't expected to be out of action for
long.

Draw In Fife
Rovers took a point away with them when
they left Central Park today. Some may say that referee Colin Hardie (not
previously a Rovers fans favourite) was to thank as the penalty award was soft.
Captain Jim Mercer missed the match due to a calf injury but is expected to be
fit for
the East Stirling game on Tuesday.
A full match report will be on the site tomorrow evening.

Matches Rescheduled
The East Stirlingshire match postponed
last Saturday has been rescheduled for Tuesday 9th March and the Peterhead match
frozen off tonight has been rescheduled for Tuesday 16th March.

Peterhead Match Off
As seemed inevitable tomorrows match
against Peterhead has been postponed.
