Vandalism
Once more last night Cliftonhill had unwelcome
visitors who added more damage to the already poorly ground. After much
publicity in the press highlighting the seriousness for a club in Rovers
financial state and an appearance on the STV Scottish news the club received
offers of help from some companies. Alfred McAlpine are to install CCTV cameras,
Swift Cars have pledged £1000, the stewarding company employed on match days
are sending in guards with dogs to patrol the ground (this started today and can
be seen below). ROK of Motherwell pledged to help out with clearing up, painting
and other things, they have already turned up at Cliftonhill and made things
much more presentable.
Please note the pictures only show a small part of the damage done to the ground and that the 2 pictures taken inside the stand and the picture of the missing window show parts which were in a much worse state before ROK turned up to clear debris and clean.
