Stenny Win Again
At a freezing cold Ochilview with a pitch so hard and largely covered in sand no player dared to don studs. For the second time in 4 days Stenhousemuir showed why they're top of the league as they ground out a win when they didn't deserve it. A draw would have seemed fairer but it wasn't to be as Rovers lost 1 - 0 to the warriors. Armand Oné featured once more as a trialist, Andy Sim started the match.

A full match report shall be on the site later!

Youth Scheme Ending
The club today issued the following
statement.

"The Club wish to announce that with effect from Season 2006/7 they will no longer operate a Youth Development Programme. The Chairman explains that this was not an easy decision to make and was only arrived at after a great deal of discussion, Unfortunately for the past few years, despite funding from the Scottish Executive and S.F.A. there has still been a considerable financial shortfall in the entire Youth system at the Club. Consequently the Board of Directors have decided that the losses are no longer sustainable.

The Board wish to thank Jimmy Lindsay and his coaching staff for their sterling efforts over the years and wish them well for the future."

Special Guest On Saturday
The 50/50 draw at this Saturday's match against Stenhousemuir shall be made by Ian McLeod who boxed his way to a Commonwealth title and lost a world title bout before retiring. He shall be displaying the belts he won during his career while making the draw.

Gable Endies Comeback
Rovers started the match at a freezing cold Links Park with a bang and were 2 up in 4 minutes through Chisholm and Donachy. They dominated much of the match but let Montrose come back culminating in an equaliser 5 minutes from timer. The point gained leaves Rovers a point behind Montrose and 4 points ahead of bottom placed East Stirlingshire.

George Wallace was missing due to injury but Andy Sim made a welcome return to the squad coming off the bench in 66 minutes. Jose Quitongo rumoured to be signing for Partick Thistle wasn't present.

A full match report with pics shall be on the site later.

Brazil Blues
Rovers slipped to 9th place after losing 3 - 1 to 3rd placed Cowdenbeath at Cliftonhill this afternoon. A good start and a 7th minute goal saw Rovers leading 1 - 0 at half time but a complete reversal in the second period had Cowden feeling unlucky not to have scored more goals.

East Stirling who won in Methil are now just 3 points behind and next weeks opponents Montrose were the side who leapfrogged Rovers to 8th place. It should of course be noted that Rovers have a game in hand over 'Shire and 2 in hand over Montrose.

32 year-old Angolan international Jose Quitongo who is a free agent since leaving Alloa featured in the Rovers line-up as a trialist.

2nd Defeat At Firs
For the first time since 1999/2000 season Rovers went down for the 2nd time in a season to perennial bottom dogs East Stirlingshire. The game saw few opportunities for either side but it was 'Shire who took one of the chances that fell their way. Rovers remain 8th ahead of Montrose on goals scored as points and goal difference are identical.
