Chaplain
Doubly Recognised
Scott Chaplain picked up the Player of the Year
award from today to add to his SPFA award. Chappie beat Tommy Lennox and last
years recipient Gordon Lennon who were his closest challengers to list the trophy,
bottle of Champagne and £100 put up by the supporters' trust.
Lennox POTM
The player of the month for April went to Tommy Lennox for an
outstanding 4 weeks.
'Shire Edged Aside
It was tough going and if 'Shire could finish they'd have won but Rovers ended
the season with a brace of Scott Chaplain goals to take the 3 points.

Chaplain Gains SPFA
Award
Scott Chaplain was tonight awarded the SPFA Player
of the Year award for the 3rd division. This award is voted for by fellow
players in the 3rd division (excepting his own teammates of course).
The other nominees were Martin Johnston of Elgin City, David
Weatherston of Queen's Park, Gary Wood of Berwick Rangers and Neil Jablonski of
East Fife.

Elated In Methil
A thrilling match in Methil saw Rovers score with 3
quality strikes against the Fifers who shall be in the play-offs for promotion.
Thanks to the win and Stenhousemuir losing, Rovers shall finish the season in a
creditable 6th position which is their highest in 4 years. Berwick Rangers
claimed the 3rd division title with a victory over 2nd placed Arbroath, meaning
that the only thing to play for next Saturday is in which order East Fife or
Queen's Park fill the 3rd and 4th positions. This is crucial as it decides who
plays Arbroath and who plays the 2nd division side which is likely to be
Stranraer.

East Fife Travelling
The bus to Methil next Saturday leaves
from Owens at 12 Noon. There are major roadworks on the Forth Road Bridge each
weekend so it's advisable that all fans going allow for delays whether going via
it or even the Kincardine Bridge
which is likely to be hit as travellers take alternative routes.
We understand that visiting fans are now seated at the far end of the stand as ends were switched due to corrosion of the former "home" seats by the salt water carried by the wind.
Berwick Grind Out Win
Berwick Rangers showed why they're top of
the league, not outclassing the opposition but still winning! Jamie Ewings
returned to the starting line-up.
New Chat
A new Chappie's Chat has been posted on the site,
amongst other things Jim tells us he will be holding a question and answer
session with fans after the East Stirlingshire match on the 28th. We shall all
be able to discuss the highs of the season and indeed the lows also.

Dumbarton
A larger than average travelling support boosted
the crowd to 619 for the visit of play-off hopefuls Dumbarton
to a very sunny Cliftonhill. Goalkeeper Jamie
Ewings was back from injury but didn't make it off the bench and Player of the
Month for March Tommy Lennox was absent with permission for a family event.

April Fool
As not everyone realised the story below saying that April 1st hoaxes
were banned on the net was itself an April fool hoax.
Player of the Month
The award for Rovers player of the month for March (as voted for fans at
Saturdays match) goes to Tommy Lennox.

April 1st Spoilsports
As has now become a tradition on this website I had
planned an April fools day story involving Pat Rolink, mascot Wee Rover and some
others but regrettably this has been deemed illegal.
A new law which came into effect earlier this year requires that "all UK based websites have to be accurate and not mislead customers/visitors to the said website". Breach of this regulation carries a fixed-penalty punishment of £100, or if deemed serious enough up to 6 months imprisonment and an unlimited fine.
Although the site could possibly be under the radar of the Web Police or I could have applied the statutory "This article should not be regarded as in any way a genuine representation of the fact" disclaimer, I have taken the decision not to publish such a story rather than risk the consequences. We do live in a nanny state and regulation of the internet is just the latest sign of this!
